Characters for Bulletin Boards

And just guess what kind of characters?!! Disney!! I have three of the four done. It’s a Finding Nemo theme. I drew Nemo, Marlin, and Crush.

Disney Treasure Chest

These past few days I’ve been busy crafting things for my classroom. It’s been a blast since I haven’t had much else to do. So I knew I needed something to hold all the little treasures for the classroom. I wanted something Disney but that would last. So I got a wooden treasure chest at Michaels, normally $20 but with a coupon I got it for $10.

I felt the quote on the top was very fitting for school!

Well that’s it for now. See ya soon!

Birthday Sign

For me, remembering all my students birthday was not successful! So I knew I needed to do something more visual that would lead to a reminder for me. Also a way to know about the students who have birthdays in the summer. There is nothing worse than forgetting to make a kids birthday special at school! I found this idea on Pinterest.

On the hooks I am going to add little tags with the kids name and the date. I feel like this will also help the kids feel special on day one, because they will know that I care about their birthday.

A Little About Me

My name is Kirsten and I am going into my second year of teaching.  I am a third and fourth grade gifted teacher.  I’ve never taught a split class before, so that makes me a little nervous.  So I decided I need to not procrastinate…..something I am a pro at.  As I have been getting ready for the school year, I’ve been wanting to share different things with people.  I’ve been really excited about how I am going to be setting up my classroom.  My classroom theme is going to be Disney.  I am a huge Disney fan, and knew this would really be a great idea for me personally.  Plus, I already have some great things to bring into my room then!

Alright…I think that is going to wrap up my first post.  Keep a look out for different ideas to bring some Disney into your classrooms as well.
